Parents, come learn about an exciting new program, Destination Imagination (DI)! The goal of this program is to teach kids problem solving, critical thinking, communication and team building in a non-structured way – it complements the classroom with important 21st century life skills. DI has been around since the 80s and 150,000 students worldwide participate annually.
Destination Imagination (DI) is a team-based creative problem-solving competition for kids grades K-12. Teams work on Science, Fine Arts, Technology, Engineering, Improv, or Community Service.
D39 parents are invited to attend an information session to learn more:
Thursday, Sept 13th from 7-8 pm at Harper Elementary
Monday, Sept 17th from 7-8 pm at McKenzie Elementary
The registration deadline is September 28, 2018. Please return all completed DI registration forms to Harper’s front office.
Kids work on small teams to complete challenges that are focused on technology, engineering, science, fine arts, improv or community service. The teams complete challenges and present their solution at the Regional Tournament in March. The kids have fun, learn and build confidence. The teams are run by parent volunteers who conduct skill-building activities to prepare the kids. The program runs from November through March.
