Teacher Appreciation Committee

The Harper Teacher Appreciation Committee is dedicated to showing our wonderful teachers and staff how much the Harper community appreciates all they do for our children! Through the year there are many ways we show our gratitude. We have a small committee of around 6 parents, but are always looking for more helpers if you would like to volunteer. Please contact teacherappreciation@harperpto.com for more information.

Stock the Teacher’s Lounge is a year long initiative to donate snacks and drinks to the staff lounge. Each month a grade level is encouraged to donate, but any donations any month are GREATLY appreciated.

During Back to School planning days, Fall and Spring Parent Conferences, and on the last day of school the committee coordinates, purchases and delivers a breakfast and/or a lunch for the staff to enjoy on these busy days! Jimmy Johns, Once Upon a Bagel and Portillos are fan favorites!

Thankful Thursdays are each Thursday of November and the committee organizes treats for the Staff Lounge. In the past homemade baked muffins, breads, cookies and brownies have been provided by our caring community.

Teacher Appreciation Week is the committee’s main event and always so much fun! Each day of this week, historically the first week of May, the teachers and staff are in for a surprise. A Harper Tradition is “Flower Day”, where each student brings a flower to school and a group of parent volunteers collect all the beautiful flowers and create bouquets for each staff member at Harper. This week is also filled with notes from the students, delectable treats, lunch, massages, yoga class and a recent hit was the Trail Mix bar!

Throughout the program we will cover different skills include Shooting, Dribbling, Passing, Rebounding, and Defense. We will teach the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship which is vital to becoming a strong basketball player.

  • Class will take place every Monday.
  • Dates: 4/3-6/5 (no class 5/29) 9 classes total
  • Time:  3:20 pm- 4:20 pm
